Tournament press releases in English and Bulgarian are coming soon!
Coming soon! For now, note that the tournament will most likely begin on Saturday morning with the opening ceremony most likely taking place at 11:00am and first round starting at 12:00am and end on Sunday afternoon.
*Note that schedule is subject to change based on registrations.
We welcome all high school graduates with C1 or higher English to judge at our tournaments. If you are new to BEST and our tournaments, visit our Judging Basics page!
We will reimburse all judges for their transport if they use trains or buses, but we strongly encourage taking the most affordable option when possible (usually trains). Please purchase round-trip tickets and you will be reimbursed upon showing the ticket at the reimbursement station. We will provide food at the tournament site, and we will also cover one night of hotel accommodations for regional tournaments. In exceptional circumstances when a judge can’t make it to the tournament site before 11am on Saturday, we will cover two nights of hotel accommodation.
To register as a judge, please fill out this form. Coaches, you must register if you are judging, too, and don’t forget to include your judges when you fill out your team roster spreadsheet (see below).
Teams need to bring judges per the regular regional policy!
Student Registration Fees
Please note that ahead of our East Regional tournament in Dobrich we have altered our registration fee policy for teams. In a nutshell, teams are expected to pay the upfront cost of registration and hotel accommodation for all students to us no later than 2 weeks before the tournament. We strongly encourage you to review the full details of the policy at the Costs and Fees section of the website.
This policy will be applied to our East region tournament in Dobrich and the national tournament in Plovdiv.
Note: All registration fees need to be paid via bank transfer to the bank account listed below. If you use UniCredit Bulbank to complete the transfer they will charge you a nominal fee; other banks may charge a 3 BGN wire fee. After you complete the transfer, you must send us an email with a picture of your invoice and the following information in the subject line: school name, number of students, and amount of leva. All payments should be made in one amount, as a team. Individual payments for individual students will NOT be recognized.
