Our internship positions are designed to directly support and learn from the coordinator positions on the BEST Management Team. Interns are expected to attend all tournaments and some of the Management Team meetings unless informed otherwise.
Interns can be promoted to coordinators in their respective positions for the following year based on their performance throughout the internship.
Internship Positions (2026-2027)
The BEST Management Team is looking for current students or recent graduates to join our team as interns for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Photography and Videography Intern
Debate Program Assistant

Interns can be current high school students OR university students.
Interns cannot compete in tournaments (since being on the Management Team presents a conflict of interest).
Application requirements differ for each position. Some interns must be prepared to attend all tournaments for the upcoming year.

Graphics Design Intern
Responsibilities:
Design marketing materials for BEST including social media graphics, swag items, virtual meeting backgrounds, banners and more.
Assist the marketing team with ideas for social media campaigns and projects
Assist with any ad hoc projects when available
Requirements:
Interns can be current high school students OR university students;
Interns cannot compete in tournaments (since being on the Management Team presents a conflict of interest);
Interns must be prepared to attend all tournaments for the upcoming year if necessary..

Suitable for:
People with some experience with Photoshop, Canva, and other programs (high school students accepted).
Photography and Videography Intern West Region
Responsibilities:
Capture photo and video materials at tournaments and other BEST-related events
Recording interviews during the school year (to be discussed with the marketing coordinator)
Edit photographs and videos before sending to the marketing coordinator, ideally within five days after the end of the event
Requirements:
Some photo and video editing knowledge and experience and a desire to develop
Knowledge of how to work with video cameras, how to set up microphones and tripods
Being able to be attend every BEST event in Western part of Bulgaria
Willing to dedicate substantial time to creating high-quality work
Good time management skills
Good level of English (B2/C1)
Good team player

Debate Program Assistant Intern
The Debate Program intern will assist the Debate Coordinator with various tasks including researching motions, managing the software for tabbing debate, helping with debate training, and other tasks. It’s preferred that this person is interested in learning all aspects of the program to potentially be promoted to the Debate Program Coordinator next year!
Responsibilities:
Help the coordinator when needed;
Help in organization of tournaments;
Help in leading seminars;
Help with tabulation.
Requirements:
Debate experience preferred
High school graduate or above
Able to attend most tournaments this year
Benefits:

Working in international and highly professional environment;

Building leadership skills.
Suitable for:
High school or university students with a debate background.
SL Intern
ORSL Program Co-Coordinator (depending on the person interviewed)
Responsibilities:
Assist the Student Leader Program Coordinator with the following activities:
Plan and manage all aspects of the student leadership program;
Prepare program proposal and checklist for Student Leader Training, Student Leader Wrap up;
Work with management to request booking of the training in September;
Organize Student Leader Training program and participants;
Program Wrap-up Seminar and other events including workshops;
Hold Mid-year Check-in online meetings with SLs;
Have a list of activities for year-around remote engagement for SLs;
Collect feedback from SLs and fellow MT members and use it to help design project proposals;
Arrange volunteer schedules and manage volunteers at tournaments.
Requirements:
Be communicative;
Have teamwork and leadership skills.

Fundraising Department Intern
Responsibilities:
Assist and support the Fundraising Coordinator with the following tasks:
Research for appropriate companies that might become sponsors and fill appropriate databases with results, send emails with requests for sponsorships and product/services support for the tournaments;
Participate in lead generation in Linkedin;
Organize online fundraising events (Summerslam, Debate Showcase);
Participate in the creation of in person fundraising events - Quiz, Special evenings, Alumni performance events;
Participate in promotional items selection for all tournaments;
Work with close collaboration with the rest of the Management Team (most volunteers) and monetizes all possible contacts in accordance with the mission of the Foundation;
Organize online and in person fundraising workshops for Coaches and School Teams.
Requirements:
Passionate about communication with new people;
Desire to develop negotiation skills and to try different approaches to a potential donors;
Has good relationship management skills;
Positive and proactive attitude;
Excellent organizational and time management skills;
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Speech Department Intern
The Speech Department intern will assist the Speech Coordinator with various tasks including researching how to expand the speech program, managing online tournaments, helping with speech training, and other tasks. It’s preferred that this person is interested in learning all aspects of the program to potentially be promoted to the Speech Program Coordinator next year!
Responsibilities:
Help the coordinator when needed;

Speech experience preferred
High school graduate or above
