CHILD PROTECTION POLICY
BEST Foundation is a non-governmental organisation registered in the public benefit in Bulgaria. The organisation firmly believes that the rights and the best interests of all children, regardless of their race, religion, or nationality, must be a primary consideration in every aspect of its work. BEST’s child-related activities are guided by the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, as well as the relevant national legislation in Bulgaria.
The mission of BEST Foundation is to ensure that every child has practical and equal access to their rights, alongside effective protection against any arbitrary deprivation of these rights. To achieve this, the Foundation works not only to promote children’s rights but also to raise awareness, strengthen communities, and support systems that safeguard children’s well-being.
As part of its duty of care, the Foundation requires its staff, trustees, and volunteers to take all reasonable steps to protect children and young people from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and the risk of harm. BEST recognises that child protection is a shared responsibility and is committed to fostering a safe and respectful environment where children’s dignity and voice are always upheld.
