BEST Regional Tournament at Simeon Radev FLHS, Pernik – March 5-6, 2016

The Spring Northwest Regional was held in Pernik on 5-6 March, and it was a special tournament for so many reasons. The sixth and last regional tournament of the school year, it was also the largest, with 155 competitors from thirteen teams representing nine cities all over western Bulgaria. There were almost twice as many novice division competitors as there have been at other tournaments. And it was special because of the host school, Simeon Radev Foreign Language High School. Their students performed beautiful songs during the opening ceremony, and beautiful folk dances during the closing ceremony on Sunday; and the staff worked tirelessly to make the weekend run smoothly.

Thanks to the many judges, chaperones, and student volunteers who attended; thanks to the students who made this tournament both fiercely competitive and wonderfully supportive; and thanks to the entire BEST community for the past five months of tournaments.

Here are the names of participating teams. You can view results below as well as on Speechwire.
