From the Classroom to the Podium: BEST Foundation Sparks Young Minds With First-Ever Middle School Debate Training in Varna
On the 26th of March, BEST Foundation held the first of its kind debate training program for middle schoolers! BEST Foundation was approached by several teachers from Progressive School 2 in Varna, who were looking for support in training their 5th, 6th and 7th grade students and organising a debate. The BEST team eagerly accepted this challenge. A total of five trainings were conducted - two in-person sessions for teachers and judges, and three online sessions for the students. The focus of the training was on the structure and the rules of formal debate.
The final debate was held on the 26th of March and it marked the conclusion of the training program. The event was hosted by the American Corner at the Pencho Slaveykov Regional Library in Varna.
We are honoured to have been able to collaborate with the Progressive School 2 for this project and we are immensely excited to see those young debaters grow and learn. We hope not only to be able to welcome them into BEST in the future, but to have the opportunity to organise similar events and spread the spirit of BEST Foundation and its community.
