BEST National Tournament at Geo Milev ELHS, Burgas – April 25-26, 2015

Over 300 students from 22 different schools came to compete in the fourth and final national BEST tournament of the 2014-15 school year. Students competed in various English speech events as well as Worlds Schools Debate at the Geo Milev English Language School in Burgas. All tournament results can be seen here.

In addition to the speaking events, participants also had to the opportunity to play various carnival games in-between rounds, buy BEST t-shirts, and even watch a Lacrosse demonstration given by Fulbright ETA, Chase Philpot. The tournament ended with a special awards ceremony where Tammy Paltchikov, Cultural Attaché from the US Embassy in Sofia, helped distribute awards to the winners.

Overall, the tournament in Burgas was a favorite for many of the participants and judges, and was a great way to end the tournament year. BEST is looking forward to the 2015-2016 academic year and is very thankful to the US Embassy and the Fulbright Commission for their support this year.
